Operation Transformation 2020

St Vincents has registered with Operation Transformation for ‘Ireland Lights Up’ walking initiative.  This is in parternship with the GAA, Operation Transformation and Get Ireland Walking.  GAA Clubs across the 32 counties will once more ensure ‘Ireland Lights Up’ by hosting community walking groups during the eight week broadcast period of the hit RTĖ show.
For the first time St Vincents are hosting ‘Ireland Lights Up’ and the aim is to make exercise more accessible on the dark winter nights and to offer local communities an opportunity to get together and socialise in a healthy way.  Walking is proven to benefit both our physical and mental health.  We are proposing doing the walks on Monday and Wednesday nights for the duration of the show.
The first walk is taking place on Monday 13th January.  Please meet at the reception area of the St Vincents at 7.00pm as all people walking are required to sign in.  Please also bring a high viz vest if you have one and good walking shoes/runners.  We will be leaving St Vincents at 7.30pm sharp and we will advise the route to all on Monday upon arrival of registration.  Please note there is no fee to join in the walking group.
Everyone is welcome to attend and we hope to have as many Players/Mentors/Parents/Guardians/Families, local community groups, etc., to walk the route on Monday night with us.
The second walk is taking place on Wednesday night 15th January, meeting place the same with a later time of 7.15pm and leaving St Vincents at 7.30pm sharp.  Route will be advised before leaving on Wednesday.
Please note: This is an open invitation to all people in the area, and is not limited to St Vincents Members. Come join us!
